I remember watching a Dateline or 20/20 story about Dr. James A. Levine. He is a huge proponent of the treadmill desk and described his himself as "taking life at 1 MPH", although he recommends 0.7 MPH for optimum whatever.

Supposedly, not only is there a huge up tick in calories burned (aka weight loss -> lower health insurance premiums), but people who use them all describe how much more energy they have at the end of the day. Are we going to see these around the OtherInbox offices someday? :)
